Celebrate Earth Day: 10 Green Practices to Adopt at Your Business

Aminah’s Organic Skin Spa prides itself on not only providing eco-friendly, organic services to our amazing clients, but also remaining the only certified Green spa in Las Vegas with over 60% eco-friendly practices. There are many things we do as a business that separates us from the rest, but adopting eco-friendly practices is something that just comes second nature to us. With Earth Day quickly approaching on April 22nd, we thought what better way to celebrate than by sharing our green secrets that are easily adoptable with other businesses.

Our Green Checklist 

1. Recycle! At Aminah’s Organic Skin Spa, we have recycling bins throughout the spa that we encourage both our employees and clients to utilize.

2. Go paperless whenever possible! We use green receipts, gift certificates and more! It is a simple switch that makes a HUGE difference.

3. Try green cleaning products. At Aminah’s, we even make our own! Avoid using harsh chemicals that are bad for the environment. 

4. Freshen up the office with green air fresheners and essential oils.

5. Buy a dual flush eco-friendly toilet. It might sound crazy, but we love ours at our Las Vegas organic spa!

6. Forego the plastic forks, spoons and knives and switch out the paper plates and bowls for real dining wear! Instead of wasting paper and plastic, we use real dishes and silverware at Aminah’s! Wash by hand or use a dishwasher to make the process more efficient!

7. If you aren’t in the room, turn off the light! It is so easy to waste energy by leaving every light on in your office space. At our spa, we turn off every light for rooms that aren’t in use.

8. Carpool! If you live close to a co-worker, start carpooling to work. If that is too difficult, try simply carpooling to lunch instead of driving separate.

9. Use business cards and products made with recycled paper. At Aminah’s, we use recycled paper as well as vegetable ink to help save the planet.

10. Re-purpose old containers. Instead of throwing away boxes and containers, reuse them throughout your office. At our spa we use old containers for storage for pens, lip-gloss displays, storing of spatulas and more!
